"Wordless" Wednesday… umm except its Tuesday..

Okay.. So I was looking at my blog roll and was noticing one of my friends just posted a Wordless Wednesday posting.. and thought.. “OH.. I totally need to do that..” While flipping through random pictures on my computer this morning. I found this picture of my little Roo.
And for some reason it actually made me say “awww” out loud. (Which resulted in many funny looks from the office) And I can’t get it out of my head. (I think I actually might get it printed to put on my desk, every time I think about it, it makes me smile)

So as I was reading her Wordless Wednesday, I pictured that pictured and here I am to post a Wordless Wednesday. I started to type the title and realized that It wouldn’t be wordless.. because well.. I can’t do anything wordless.

Then.. As I typed Wednesday.. I realized it was Tuesday..
So really..

Can I please just post this picture and can you please just saw.. “AWWWWW“???

Thank you…

On a little side note that probably no one cares about.. I’ve had the weirdest day. It honestly just keeps slipping my mind that I’m pregnant. I seriously have some sort of amnesia today. I just completely forget every couple of hours.

The baby is SUPER active lately. (Just in the past few day) I went from feeling him just after I eat to seriously feeling him almost alllllllll day. He’s now making it hard for me to fall asleep, and waking up before I’m ready to wake up.

But all day today.. I keep thinking… “What is wrong with my stomach?” Then I have to think… “Oh yea.. it’s the baby.” I have SERIOUSLY had this conversation with myself about 15 times today!!!

20 posts in 1…

Aren’t you lucky!!!!!
Instead of writing a bunch of different posts, I am just going to do sub posts…
READY??
Oldest to newest….
An Ordinary Pregnant Girl….
It was time again for another doctor’s appointment.. These seems to come so fast, I can’t believe how fast 4 weeks goes by
And another Doctor’s appointment means another ultrasound.. This time with a much less wiggly baby. Unfortunately we didn’t get any great pictures.. but did confirm one thing for my sister..

And more proof of the giant in my stomach…

His legs are reallly long and his feet are really huge.. but its cute to see that his legs are starting to get some fat on them..

He is officially weighing just over a pound and half. I didn’t get his length, but I’m sure it’s huge. Heartbeat still at about 138. Which is were it’s been every time.

He was sucking on his fingers during part of the ultrasound.. not just his thumb.. all of his fingers!

He has recently become VERY possessive of his “bubble” He gets pretty ticked when someone is in his way.

He’s been kicking Aaron quite a bit lately.

Aaron had been pretty sad that he hadn’t felt him move. Last Saturday while sitting in the Viewing room of uncle Scott’s funeral, the baby started kicking really high. (which is weird for him) I pushed a little where he was kicking and he kicked again. I did it a couple more times before I grabbed Aaron’s hand (It just bums him out more when he can’t feel it after I’m so sure he’ll be able to, or after the baby moves.) Sure enough, I pushed his fingers in the same spot and the baby kicked him. It was pretty cool and gave us a reason to smile!
And just this weekend he started to move really violently. I swear if I was standing up he’d knock me over! So I laid in bed and watched my stomach. It was the first time I had seen him move from the outside.. pretty creepy!
He has also taken to not sleeping!! (Something I sincerely hope changes in the next 3 months!) He wakes up so early and starts squirming around and he’s up sooo late. It’s starting to make it harder for me to sleep. At night when Aaron cuddles and puts his arm around me.. the baby always kicks at it! It’s pretty funny..
But what I was getting at…
I no longer have placenta previa. I was diagnosed with it at 11 weeks. Every 4 weeks there has been no change. They decided it was time to do a more in depth look to really get good measurements. And sure enough, the placenta is more than 2cm’s away from my cervix. So I’m not longer considered “High Risk.” I’m just an ordinary pregnant girl with a giant baby that never sleeps! :)
I’ll take what I can get! (although.. next appointment is the glucose test. YUCK! Not looking forward to it, but secretly hoping it won’t be as bad as everyone says it is..
Zebra Balls..
I realize that is highly inappropriate, but it’s the first thing that I think of when I see these
But aren’t they pretty?

I hesitantly entered a couple cooking contest for this summer. I’m still not sure if I really want to do them.. but baby needs a crib and a dresser.. So I need to win some money somewhere. I don’t think it’s just going to fall out of the sky! Thankfully these are contests where you bring the prepared food. I don’t have to cook them there.

The first one is a Chocolate contest. It has to use Girardelli chocolate and not more than 10 other ingredients. I knew I wanted something different that would stick out. Also something good for the holidays. Something someone could make to go on a cookie plate for Christmas.

So I made Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles (which desperately need a new name.. but probably not Zebra Balls!!)

I originally was just going to make chocolate chip cookie dough, but realized that they chocolaty taste was worth 40% of the score. So I threw a little cocoa powder into the cookie dough! These are supppper yummy. But also very rich. I brought them to work today to test them on my guinea pigs.. I also need a good brownie.. I have an idea, but It’s going to take some fine tuning.

More on those later…

Christmas in August…

On the way home the other day I had this freak out moment. I’m 24 weeks now. 24 weeks mean if your baby is born, it will survive. Which in my head means, “Your baby could be born any second.”

All we have, is 1 – alligator onesie that my aunt sent me (that is SUPER cute) and a beehive mobile (that she also sent me and is SUPER cute) and a rocker/glider that is still in a box in our living room. THAT’S IT! For a baby that could be born.. any second!

So as we have this freak out conversation all the way home, we pull into the drive way and see this HUGE box on the porch.

Aaron brings it is and it’s addressed to “Pookie” c/o Ryley and Aaron.

I immediately knew it was from my sister. It weighed a ton and I couldn’t imagine what was in it. Aaron’s pulled out this box.. (Isn’t it cute? i love it!!!)

Inside the box.. we found all of this…..

Can you believe it???? I have never seen so many clothes EVER! I was soooo excited, and felt so much better about a baby that could be born any second! He had clothes..and that’s all he needed!

I wanted a Hoodie sooo badly for him.. and now he has one!! Thanks Ry. (Even though Aaron wants to steal it for himself!!)

He is already VERY spoiled.
I love that she bought him lots of puppy dog stuff.. I buy everything with a dog on it that I can find…

My mom threw in a few things too.. Everything was soo cute…
Take a look at these pants.. they say “My Hero” on the butt..and have the cutest dragon and prince theme..

And that giant alligator.. or crocodile (I don’t really know the difference) is a little hard to keep from Riddick. He was pretty sure everything was for him..

Oh.. but this was probably my favorite thing…
A mute button pacifier…

How stinkin‘ cute huh?? And my mom even remembered to throw in some beef jerky for Aaron. The first thing he said when I opened the box was “Finally something for me!” He’s getting used to this being spoiled thing and the last couple boxes haven’t had anything for him! :)
oh.. one more thing.. We bought him a swing!!! Kohl’s was having a pretty good sale, and I had a couple discount codes that knocked the price down even more..
This is the swing we got..

Aaron thinks it looks like a robot. It does.. I’ll admit it! But it’s one of the best swing. It can swing side to side or you can turn the seat so it swing front to back.. AND it plugs in!! So you don’t have to waste batteries! I love it! It retails everywhere else for no less than $100. The typical price is $160. We got it with tax and shipping for $74!!! Next on the list, a car seat, stroller and crib! If only money would fall out of the sky!

******UPDATED: I just got an email from Kohl’s. I didn’t even know it, but apparently they are doing Kohl’s cash right now. So not only did I get this swing for less than I could buy it used, I got $20 back for it!!! Unfortunately you can only use the Kohl’s cash in the store and not online, but I don’t think I’ll have too hard of a time spending it! Thanks Kohls!**********

I guess that’s all for today…..

I would really like to tell you about the funeral we went to this weekend. But words would never do it justice. Actually.. the pictures won’t be able to do it justice either. I’ve never in my life experienced anything like it. It was truly amazing. I think Uncle Scott’s brother, Nolan, said it best when he told the funeral director that it was truly the most amazing funeral he had ever been too, and how badly he wished it was for someone else. I had my father in law’s camera during the funeral so we need to get over there to get the pictures before I can post them. So instead……
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how I can’t believe we already been married a YEAR! In some ways it seems like yesterday… and in others, I can’t remember ever not being married.
Most of the time when I’m at work I find my mind wandering back to last year at this time.. the drama.. the stress.. the dress shopping! The picture taking.. the just wanting everything to fall into place’ing!
As you can probably tell, I am not the most decisive person in the whole world! So I thought I’d let you all in to have a sneak peak into the dress shopping!!!!
In no particular order…. THE DRESSES…
The girl next to me was trying on the same EXACT dress.. it was kinda funny..This one just totally cut my waist off.. and at the time.. I sure didn’t like those poofies..

The only picture of my in a sleeveless dress! We were planning on having sleeves added to this dress. This was the front runner for quite awhile.. I LOVED it!

This is the dress I still wish I would have bought.. I don’t know why.. but I wish I would have. This dress was really comfortable..and made me feel comfortable. At the time the only thing I didn’t like was the sleeves. They were too much like a t-shirt too me. I wish I would have known how much easier it would have been to shorten some sleeves, instead of what I ended up doing to the dress I bought.. I love this dress…

uhh.. some of these are just interesting and I don’t have a lot of commentary for them.. This one had a built in necklace! :)

Yea..I really was feeling just as my face looks…
LOVED this dress too! It was pretty pricey though…
I thought this dress was pretty flattering.. just a little plain.. but it was in serious consideration for awhile…
k.. this dress.. I SERIOUSLY almost bought it the day I tried it on. I was sooo in love with it.. WHY? I have NOOO idea.. its so… ummm.. Amish looking??? But I loved it….

Hey.. same dress.. different day.. I guess I liked this one!
yea.. I don’t really know…
This is the other one I wish I had bought. This particular dress was 4 sizes too big. But the train was AMAZING.. the back was so pretty..and I bet it would have been “the” dress if they had it right then and there in the right size…
This was the cheapest dress.. So I really wanted to like it.. but umm.. no…
This was a rental place.. again.. would have saved a lot of money. This is the first dress she put me in, I was ready to walk out right then…

Then we tried this one.. it was pretty when I sat down. Didn’t plan on doing much sitting..
They put a baby blue sash on this one and I looked like Little Bo Peep…
This was the only combination I liked.. but didn’t love the differences in textures…

SOOOOOOOOOOO.. What did I end up with???
This dress wasn’t actually my favorite after all.. but I did like it.. and well it’s my wedding dress.. So I guess I have to love it right??? :)

We will not ever begin to talk about the other dresses in the wedding.. there isn’t enough memory on blogger for that!!!!
More wedding excitement to come this upcoming month… I love reliving it!!!
Hope you don’t mind either….
oh… PLUS! I have another ultrasound on Monday so that will be fun.. It’s amazing to me how much he changes every 4 weeks.. Can’t wait to see what he’s up to this time around.. I promised the tech that I wouldn’t eat or drink anything sugary, so I am hoping he’ll still be asleep when we get there so she can get good look at everything without having to chase him all around!

Cleaning out the camera….

I’ve skipped past a few things.. SO I figured I’d clean out my camera and post some random pics…

This was just this morning. The boys we’re FREEZING! granted.. it’s still summer here.. just like everywhere else! But the boys we’re cold. So as I was getting ready to leave they cuddled on the stairs to get warm!!! Kinda hard to see Riddick, but he’s in there!
Aaron carried him around like that until I left.. I don’t know where the baby is going to fit in there in a few months!

This is a wedding cake I made last week (?) yea.. I think it was last week. The flower girl was supposed to put flowers all over it.. and well.. Ran out! So it looked super boring. But the bride loved it.. and that’s all that really matters!
This is our mutant tomato plant. I am realizing it doesn’t look so huge in the picture. But it really is. And now its trying to come in the back door. I’m not really sure what we are going to do about it.

Funny story though.. I was out picking them the other night and had a bowl on the ground and was having to basically lay on the ground and crawl under it to get to the tomatoes on the back. (this is a grape tomato plant, but most of the tomatoes are coming off the size of small Roma’s) I would pick the tomatoes then reach back to the bowl and drop them in, I did this for about 6 tomatoes and crawled out. When I crawled out I realized the bowl was EMPTY! And Riddick was just standing there wagging his tail! He was eating the tomatoes as fast as I could pick them! (Tomatoes are one of his favorite foods..) I didn’t get mad because he was just so dang cute, plus I didn’t have a need for the tomatoes anyway! I finished picking the rest and stopped him from eating all of them. All of our little tomatoes sit in a bowl on the counter and they make the perfect snack for me and puppy every time we walk into the kitchen!

I made this blanket for a friends baby shower last Saturday. I actually bought this fabric for myself before I knew what we were having. I am SOO in love with it!!! It was sooo hard to give this blanket up, but I’m pretty sure our little guy doesn’t want a pink cupcake blanket! I tried really hard to think of something else to do with the fabric, but there isn’t much you can do with flannel. The girl loved it and I know her little girl will love it. So that makes it okay!
(I have another yard of flannel I bought too that is kind of retro umbrellas. I intended to make her two blankets but was too tired. I’ll have to find something else to do with that one!)

Last week was a busy one. I had a wedding cake to do for Friday. And Saturday I had a baby shower then we went to the Annual Hot Air Balloon festival in Sandy. Last year we just happened to notice all these hot air balloons and decided to go see what they were doing and had sooo much fun!! They set up all these hot air balloons and dusk then for a few hours they just tether them to the ground and keep shooting the fire so all the balloons are glowing. Its a really neat thing to watch. We took Aaron’s little sister out to dinner with us then we headed down at about 8:30… not much was going on yet. But when it started to get dark they started to unroll one of the balloons. They set it up and it was a frenzy since it was the only balloon up. It was set up for about 10 minutes then they started to set up another. I was kind of a stormy night and all the sudden the wind started to pick up A LOT! the balloon almost got blown away and they decided it wasn’t safe so they took it down! So this is the only balloon we got to see! Hopefully next year it will be better. We still had a lot of fun that night and it was nice to spend some time with Emily!

I don’t really know why I’m including this picture. I just really like it. And I want my hair to look like that again.. I think maybe next week I’ll go get it done again. I just want it lighter. We were talking about going to my parents house for Easter and Aaron said “I just want to go to that apple place again.” And that’s where this picture was taken (Apple Hill) So I thought I’d throw it in. I didn’t realize he had that much fun there, we basically just made him pose for pictures the whole time. And Riddick was a brat most of the time, so I thought Aaron hated it! I guess he didn’t… Too bad its not a whole lot of fun in the spring!! :)

I really like this picture too and don’t think I even posted it. Awhile ago.. (I don’t remember when, but Aaron is wearing his winter jacket and I have a sweater on, so it much have been cold..) Some vendor of ours took us out to a nice dinner downtown and to the Brad Paisley concert. Everyone with us got completely drunk..and Aaron had no idea who Brad Paisley was, but we had a lot of fun. I remember the concert didn’t end until almost midnight.. it was soo late!

But lots of fun!!! I guess I just like pictures that remind me of how much fun we have!

Hair today.. Gone tomorrow .. THE SEQUEL

This time it is a little more traumatic than last time.. I cried a little longer this time.. but different tears. There was just no stopping the laughter.. and honestly.. it hasn’t stopped yet…

It was hair cut day on Monday. Both for Aaron and Riddick. I SOOO wish I had a before and after picture.. but hindsight.. right???

I cut Aaron’s hair.. without a problem.. this time!!

And we went and dropped Riddick off for his..

You see.. when I get my hair cut, the girl “knows” me. I say.. just make it look cute..and don’t make me look fat.. but make it different.. but not too weird.. but something new.. and she GETS IT!

Apparently groomers don’t have the same ability…

“Just like last time” She asked..

“No, I was thinking I wanted it a little shorter. Last time you left his skirt (the hair around his stomach and on his legs) kinda long. It was dirty and gross looking in just a couple days. We like it a lot shorter so it’s less maintenance.”

“Okay” She said. “What about his face?”

“Oh, same with his face” I replied. “We like his beard pretty short and his eye brows kinda short too since they seem to grow really fast and I’m constantly trimming them so he can see.”

“Okay.. got it.. Short” She said confidently.

Silly me assumed she understood EXACTLY what I meant. Shave his back and head like they normally do. Cut his “skirt” about half the length it usually is. Trim is beard so it comes just to his chin, and about half the normal eye brow length. She got it.. right….

Off we left for IKEA. I told her not to hurry and just call when he was done.

About 3 hours later, she called. When stopped and got ice cream on the way and i made sure to get him a cone so he could have it when he got home. I ran in to pick him up and Aaron stayed in the car..

I walked in and said “I’m here to pick up Riddick.” I paid.. and the lady went to get him…

This is what walked out of the back room…

“That’s a nice giant rat you have there lady but.. WHERE IS MY DOG???” okay.. so that just went through my head.. but HOLY CRAP! Seriously what is that thing?? It is definitely not this sweet face that walked in 3 hours ago..

A mother always knows her child.. even if he does look like this…

I walked out and Aaron was in plain view. The look on his face was PRICELESS!! I’m very glad he didn’t have a mouth full of ice cream or I’m sure it would have been spit all over the inside of the car.

By the time I got to the car I was already laughing so hard I couldn’t even speak.

Aaron asked about 20 times if I was sure that was Riddick. I just kept shaking my head yes.. He didn’t believe me. We had to sit in the parking lot for awhile to compose ourselves. I was laughing so hard I couldn’t speak or breath and tears were just streaming down my face.

My poor baby… my sweet fluffy.. sweaty baby…

pre hair cut…..

post hair cut…

pre hair cut…

post hair cut….

I just hope it grows back by winter.. he’s already freezing.. and quite embarrassed…

It actually took Aaron quite awhile to be convinced that this “thing” actually was Riddick…

oh boy……
